I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Sciences (2023) and my Masters's of Engineering degree in Molecular Engineering (2025) from the University of Chicago. While at UChicago, I played rugby (flanker!), covered topics in science and health for various student publications, and was on the executive board of the Korean StudentsOrganization as Political Chair. Now, I am conducting immunology research within the University of Chicago's Biological Sciences Division (you can read specifics on the Research tab of this website).

I am also interested in science reportage and communications; I love to cover and share about all kinds of science topics, from the fantastic to the freakish. I love storytelling, creative tools, and contemplating how the mediums we use shape us. I have covered various topics in science primarily for affiliates of the University of Chicago (see my Clips tab) and I was a semi-finalist for the 2025 AAAS Mass Media Fellowship. I have over six years of professional background facilitating learning experiences for children that uplift and inspire, and I am passionate about community outreach and the promotion of scientific literacy. I am always taking on freelance writing assignments and speaking arrangements.

Outside of my scientific pursuits, I enjoy playing chess, practicing the autoharp, and crocheting strange hats. I am currently based in Chicago.
